As we embark on another exciting half term and the build up to Christmas, we wanted to share an overview of the engaging topics our children will be exploring!
To kick off this half term we will be holding our own Children in Need fundraising worship. Look out for details on this from class teachers via dojo.
In Literacy, we’re exploring the huge topic of refugees. We will be investigating what life looks life for refugees around the world, writing information texts on famous people who have been refugees at some point in their lives, as well as writing a letter home in role as a refugee.
In Maths, we will be following the White Rose scheme, tackling the essential concepts of Addition & Subtraction, Multiplication & Division and Measures. Our approach is designed to ensure every child can flourish, with varied resources and activities that cater to diverse learning styles.
Our RE lessons will focus on festivals and why they are so important to many different religious communities.
Our Art and DT lessons will explore the work of the artist Kandinsky and his use of hot and cold colours, before we look to creating designs and mechanisms for our own moving Christmas cards.
In Science we will be exploring and investigating all things Light.
We will be bringing this half term to a close with a carol service in the school hall, which we invite all parents to come and watch. Further details of this will come from class teachers via class dojo.
Thank you for your continued support!
